Women in Adventure Film Competition - Vote for the People's Choice!
The Women in Adventure film competition is back! Watch this year's entries on the BMC website and vote for the People's Choice.
The competition came about when the organisers of Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF) recognised how underrepresented female athletes and filmmakers are in adventure films. In response they introduced the Women in Adventure category, inviting submissions of short films about the adventures of outdoor women.
Amateur or professional filmmakers can enter, and entries where women are behind the camera as well as in front of it are especially welcome. The competition has been a great success, attracting a diverse range of films and filmmakers. Now in its third year, it is supported by Women Climb, the BMC, and the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival.
The judges want to be inspired by films of women enjoying the outdoor and mountain environment, and the panel will decide the winners in the categories of Best Overall Film, Best Micro-adventure, and Best Student Film. The most coveted category for filmmakers is the people's choice - voted for by you!
Please support this fantastic competition - watch the films, share them, and vote for your favourite. Most of all, be inspired and consider making a film about your outdoor adventures to enter next year!
All the entries can be viewed on BMC TV, and the winners will be announced and screened at Sheffield Adventure Film Festival on 18 March 2017.
